I bought 16 pints of reduced double cream from Co-op @ 55p a pot and turned it into yummy butter. Some salted, some garlic etc. Each tub produces 12oz real butter - can't be bad.

Smashing stuff Galore. I do similar with the basic cottage cheese, adding pepper, garlic & herbs.

I do have a 1930's butter churning jar which I use occasionally too.

Brilliant! How exactly did you do it?

I remember making butter about 30 years ago, with my class of 6 year olds, by shaking cream in a jar. It worked - in the end.

I remember doing that myself about 30 years ago as well!!
there must be a less labour intensive way of doing it now! Could you 'churn' it in a Kenwood chef or something?

I would never think to do that! But I'll be on the lookout for cheap cream now!

Yes you can use a Kenwood Chef to make Butter.

My wife says not any more the last time the Kenwoods motor gave up. Cost me a new one ( she dont like butter ).
