Can't seem to acces that site Ziggy.

Just reading this and there was an almighty bang and flashes outside, sounded like thunder and lighting and assumed it was the storm coming our way. But it was the firework display for Guildford Cathedral's 50th anniversary, it was a pretty good display and a lovely evening to watch it too.

    Hope the islanders are OK.

Loads of bangs down here in dorset too, I was seeing the strikes come up on the lightning site before hearing them, the storm was just touching the Isle of Wight when the site went down, I guess the power got taken out there:what:

I can't access either Zig ... but I sold up there four years ago now and I know young Aesculus does not live there anymore either.

Been promised some rain tomorrow or Sunday by all the Weather sites all week ... now they've all gone shy on me and are saying "No dice" :(

I've put Nitrogen on all the lawns in expectation, so they had better come good on their earlier promises ... we didn't get more than a couple of mm in April, and only about 10mm in March :( and the lawn is going to look like a yellow-thing if the N doesn't get watered-in :(

The yew hedging we planted in Feb looks dead. Its been watered; I reckon (only realised too late) that something went digging for the bonemeal they were planted with :(

and the 1,500 Hornbeam we put in will be starting to look sorry soon. I put leaky-hose under the weed-membrane, but haven't connected it up as yet. That's a job for this weekend.

Don't laugh, promise?!! I replaced one of the Copper Beech hedge plants which I planted 2 years ago. They were 1.5M plants, so already quite tall. This particular one came green both seasons ... we had a half dozen dead ones in the hedge too, which I also replaced. My wife said "Its the one on the end of THAT row" so I dug it up, potted it up so as to plant out as a tree somewhere next Autumn, and guess what? Now its potted up the plant has come into leaf Copper!!! I was telling my wife how remarkable this was when she told me it was "one-from-the-end-of-the-row" and sure enough the Green one is still there!

I hate it when that happens Kristen:DOH:

The storm we had here started as I left Somerset & was still going when I got to Dorset & was stretching out to sea, so must have been at least 40 miles across.

I hope one that size waters in your N for you.

We were promised a storm tonight, we had a good down pour about an hour ago but no storm.
Not yet anyway but it's very warm here so we may get it in the night.

 Maybe it changed it's course as we had massive electrical/thunderstorms here throughout the night accompanied by torrential rain ... I'm sure this happened because I watered last evening ...
