Just to say hello, and say a little about myself.
I am 72 and a little disabled with RA, but I manage to keep gardening.
I have not been able to garden for the last couple of years, but with the help of a cardiac surgeon, I am able to get back to it.
I have been a sufferer for 40 years with RA and planned a new garden some 12 years ago knowing that it would get harder as I got older.
I have quite a large patch and had a landscape garden firm to come in and change my garden from a lawned and flowerbed and vegetable plot, into a pebbled and membraned covered area, with raised beds and plenty of containers.
I know some of you keen lads/lasses will cringe at the mention of pebbles and containers, but needs must.
I have a large irregular shaped garden with a smallish garden at the side of the house and a very small front garden.
I joined because I saw you cater for the disabled, and that is encouraging.
It would have been very easy to just let my garden go to a paid gardener, but that would have been for just one day a fortnight because of expense, I set to and now with my wife getting there, even taking on major tasks like rehashing whole areas.
My gardener gets all the heavy jobs:D
For those of you interested I have a 5000 gallon koi fishpond 22 ft. long 8 ft wide and 6 ft deep, with quite a few fish in.
I do know quite a bit about fish having kept them for over 50 years.
I enlarge my text because of folks with bad eyesight, hope it is fine with admin.
    Thanks for having me FA

Hi Fresh Air, you are most welcome here :dbgrtmb:

I'm sure you will be able to give us information and help as we hope to do for you. There are also a lot of social threads on here and you'll be welcomed on them as well - but beware as some of us are a bit nutty. :yahoo:

None of us are getting any younger and we quite understand your situation.

    See you around. :D

Thank you all for your nice welcome, I am sure at my age there is always something new to learn, and time changes the way tasks are done.
