    Hi guys,

I have a 3 different soil-based basil plants in my garden. All 3 come from different supplies, and none of them are grown from seed.

After about 4 weeks of being in my backyard garden, and frequently helping them out by cutting off wilted leaves and watering them as carefully as I can, they still don't seem happy..

Do these pictures look familiar to anyone here? Or does anyone maybe know how I can make these guys thrive?

They havn't grown at all in the passed 3 weeks. Mind you I have one patch of seed-grown basil that is doing lovely, but is still young.

Thanks in advance for checking this out.

    Regards,

    Nath

Hello Nath and welcome to the forum.
In my experience Basil just doesn't do well outdoors. We just don't have the climate for it.
Your Basil will do much better under cover.
I find the kitchen windowcill is the best place. And always water from the bottom - Basil just can't stand getting its leaves wet.

    Hi Alice,

That's very good advice, thanks for your time. If they like watering from the bottom, that will surely explain why they are unhappy. I will make sure they find their ways to pots and inside-coziness soon, and hope they will thrive again.

With watering from the bottom, do you mean letting the pot they are standing in soak in some water for a couple of minutes, or do you mean regular watering, but just make sure the leaves don't get wet?

    Thanks again,

    Nathan
