Hi, has anyone tried seeds that are pre-spaced on a tape, 'cos my husband planted some of these, (spinach and leeks), round about Easter time, and there is absolutely nothing showing - zilch. :love30::love30::love30:

    Hi Kapper,

No, not tried them, but you should have had germination by now.

Yeah, that's what l thought LOL! Oh well, back to the beginning then :cry3:.I don't suppose you can shed any light on what may have happened to them.

So, as things stand, NO runner beans, blamed on Florence the Duck, NO Spinach, NO leeks, and the peas are looking decidedly poorly.:dunno:

I fear a barren year. :gaagh:I think that maybe, he is just NOT green fingered. :heehee:

I was once given some radish-on-a-tape as a fun present (along with what looked like a book of matches, except each 'stick' had a single seed lettuce attached!).

The 'blurb' said 'Easy to sow radish. No need for thinning' and to be fair, you couldn't fault them on this, they were certainly easy to sow and indeed I never had to thin them ....... mainly because only 2 grew!

Just as a BTW - a couple of years ago, either Betterware or Kleeneze, were selling a similar thing, i.e. 'sheets' of perennial flower seeds, (basically two layers of biodegradable tissue-type paper with seeds trapped between), which you cut to size/shape, buried just below the surface of the soil, watered and waited for the plants to emerge. Needless to say, I'm still waiting! :fingerdrum::fingerdrum:
