GARDEN OPEN FOR CHARITY â?? Saturday 29th May, 2010

Our charity this year, once again, is Grove Cottage which is based in Bishops Stortford. It is affiliated to Mencap and is maintained by local donations only. It provides activities for children and adults with learning disabilities and respite care for parents/carers. This provides a much needed break for the families of these children and adults.

If you like to look at gardens, support a worthy charity or just have a break, we shall be happy to see you on Saturday 29th May (Bank Holiday Saturday).

Although the garden is open from 10 a.m. â?? 12 noon and 2.00 â?? 4.00 p.m. There will be a Private Tour for forum members (and family) at Noon when you will get a chance to meet each other and have a chat as well as having the tour :gnthb:. I shall also endeavour to make a sandwich or two :).

Entry £1 per person. Tea/coffee with cake or biscuits will be available for a donation of £1.50 There will also be lots of plants for sale.

As a rough guide to where we are: we are about 15 minutes from both junction 7 and 8 of the M11 motorway and 15 - 20 minutes from the county towns of Chelmsford and Hertford.

It would be great to see more members here this year :).

    PM me for directions.

Here is a link to a preview I posted on GC a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the invite, Shiney, but we are too far away, even just here in Germany and, as you know, at the time of your Open Garden, we'll be in Florida.

Perhaps the next time we are in England we can finally manage to pop in and see you.

I'll be thinking of you and wishing you another big success for charity, not to forget, great weather and lots of guests. xx

Shiney - I know you do this every year - congratulations and well done.

I wish I could get there but it a bit too far from Yorkshire. But the best of luck for fine weather.

Once again Many thanks for the invite shiney but at a 264 mile round trip is just a tad to far for me.
I wish you all the success your charity deserves

If anybody in Kent is interested in heading up - it's only about a 40 minute drive from my place - and I'm more than willing to car share - save you the drive! I know there are a few members around here - I'm in between Meopham and Wrotham - if going up without having to drive helps - pm me and we can sort something out.

I would love to come. By that time the weather should be sufficiently to warrant a long ride out on the motorbike in the direction of Essex. You got parking for a couple of motorbikes? :)

Thank you for the invite :)

Aaron, you and your motorbikes will be most welcome. We can fit the motorbikes in the driveway. Most of the cars will park out on the road so that they don't get hemmed in by other cars.

It would be great to see you.

By 10.30 cars were parked nearly a quarter of a mile along the road.
