I have a new garden (actually it is an old farm yard ) I have dug over the area for my rose garden and added rotten cow muck. Are there any other things I should do to the soil. It is light silt.
I love fragrant roses but cant decide what to plant. Any ideas please.

Good morning Redwoods36 well i would just keep digging it over occasionally until October/November time and then get bare root roses, unless you want container grown Roses, which you can purchase from now until October, only my opinion of course:)
As for Roses ,is it Floribundas or Hybrid T,s you are going for and colour/scent,if you could give us a clearer picture we can then give you some good choices.:)

My beds are almost ready and my husband wants to know what is stopping me going and buying my roses. The trouble is I am confused by all the choice. Ideally I would like low maintenance (disease resistant) and very fragrant. I don't know whether I want hybrid T's or floribundas, I have read all the info but still undecided. What I would like to create in the bed is a mixture of roses and perenials. So even more choice now. What about colour, should they be on a theme or all sorts. As you can see I am in a bit of a dilema. Also how many can I fit in the bed? I have an L shaped bed 6m long x 1.80m wide. Any help please.
