Hi everyone, thanks for helping me out with the delphiniums. Thought I might as well ask about the gladioli as well, I've also planted some of them in pots and some in beds (is it okay to grow these in pots or would they be better having more root room as well?) I've been busy recently and haven't had a proper look at them but when I did yesterday I noticed that they are literally just tall spiked leaves with no flowers, where abouts do the flowers come from? :what:

Bit early for Gladioli flowers? They will come from between the spear-shaped leaves

Thanks Kristen, I knew it was a bit early but I couldn't figure where the buds should be forming. I'm increasing the flowers I've grown from seed/bulbs this summer previously it was just lupins, hollyhocks, poppies and calendula which were all pretty straightforward. Thanks again.

I grow gladioli in big pots Freedomspark and they get on very well.
Too early for the flower spikes yet. You'll see thick spears forming and they will open into flowers.
