I planted healthy looking 6" geraniums two weeks back...the lower leaves are turning red now. Those in the garden more so than those in containers.Any ideas?

I also have Fatsia Japonica planted in deep containers six weeks back...they were a deep green colour on planting.Kept outside in a sheltered position. Many of the leaves are turning pale some with blotches on them.I examined the leaves and some curling had what looked like aphids on the undersides...these have now been sprayed. They have been fed once a couple of weeks back. One leaf has a large chunk missing,I take it this is slug or snail damage.

The red leaves on the pelargoniums is due to them aclimatising to new conditions and getting rooted.

The fatsia looks fine to me, probably got some soft growth that's also acclimatising.

Hi Raebhoop. I think at the end of the day the answer is plants just don't do perfect leaves.
The geranium leaves turning red - well anything that stresses them will do that - cold, wet, drought, you name it. But they will get on and grow and flower. I wouldn't worry about them.
Yes, something has nibbled that Fatsia. But unless the damage is severe I wouldn't worry.
I think your plants will get on fine - just don't expect them to have perfect leaves.
