Just saw the news item on the BBC, only 45% of people got tickets. From what I see on here (only Kristen got 1 out of 3 and Keinnaf knows people who have had money taken) that is a big under-estimate. Going by that chap in Clare's post who applied for £36,000 and ended up with £11,000 the odds of getting a ticket are 30%, and he probably went for lots of higher price band seats.

There is something very fishy with all this. Now we are being told we can re-apply for the 'next ballot' I'm thinking this is just a big scam, will people l go for the more expensive seats and one or two extra events just to make sure they get something?

So it looks like the olympics are only for the rich or foolish.

One of the sports I wanted to see was badminton, I applied for a couple of £90 tickets not even knowing who would be playing or what sort of seats I would get. I didn't get them as I said before.

Today I found out that the Badminton World Championship is being held at Wembley Arena this August. So I've booked a couple of tickets to watch the finals day, cost me less than half the price of the Olympic tickets, for the same venue and I got to choose the seats and there was no mysterious lottery/ballot rubbish. I paid and I got a ticket, nice and straighforward.

          Sod the Olympics!

          On the Plus Side:-
apparently, according to tonights News, a lot of people's Credit Cards bauked.
The result is to re-allocate to the next in the queue - if your still interested.
Seb Coe did say that 75% were un-successful (demand=supplyx4) - must have been underpriced?:rolleyespink:

We were only approved for the Equestrian Tickets. And we had a final chance of "really" buying only those. We decided not since I can't see going for only one ticket, and I can see horses riding & jumping down the street.
Anyway, there supposedly is another "chance" for "what is left" on June 24th. So we shall see what happens then.

Got an email today telling me I got nothing and offering me participation in the second round, there is a list of events still available and the price ranges. There are still some Archery tickets left (I think it was Marley wanted those?)

Many things are completely sold out including all the sports I wanted to see.

I might try for a football match instead as they seem reasonably cheap.

Oh you cynical lot! It couldn't be they had millions of applications and there just weren't that many to go around? I wouldn't want to take on a job like that anyway. Whoever did it was bound to get slaughtered afterwards!

My husband thinks, the plan should have been to agree to the higher priced seats and then if you get bumped its to the lower priced seats.
          Just a theory.
We worked on getting tickets for two years prior. Whatever, hey saves us lots of money in airplane tickets.
But will try for the June lot, we shall see.
