Good luck with everything Jen. I'm sorry to hear your f-i-l is a pain in the butt, sounds like you've both been very patient with him. At last you can enjoy your own space....will be heaven for you both. Let us know how the new job's going & how you're settling in to your new place.

    cheers

That is exactly so, a terrible terrible shame really (not) hehehehe

The move went well, his temper almost came out as we were loading the van as things weren't going quite as he'd planned - it took 3.5 hours in the end to pack it and by that time we were just glad to get on the road :hehe:

The journey down was good, around every corner we kept hearing what we called 'shiftidge' in the back and when we got to Coventry we carefully opened the side door for a bookcase to almost fall out... Even though I wasn't driving you could feel how heavy the van was but we made it :D

Unpacking was fun, that only took us 3 hours but by the end of it (after dis-assembling a wardrobe outside the house as it wouldn't fit, the house was a complete mess, boxes everywhere, nowhere to sit on the couch for a rest and Tilly stayed in the van the whole time (she could still see what we were doing but wasn't in the way either), but this afternoon we got the house in some sort of order, most boxes and bags are now upstairs in the rooms where the stuff will be going so we've got room downstairs to put the last few bits we're taking with us on Tuesday when I finish from work :yho:

I've done the most important job already - my Me to You bears are back on top of the wardrobes but I now have the chore of going through my clothes (and there's a lot of them), being ruthless about what I want/don't want but that can wait til Wednesday me thinks :)

Whilst we had the van we thought we'd go and buy a mattress for the bed and because we were paying cash and able to take it away today the store gave us an £80 discount from £200, and for an orthopedic we don't think we've done too badly :)

Just got to get through the next 2 days before we can do our last drive down to our new home but I'm looking forward to it, it'll just be nice to get the house all unpacked and tidy again :hehe:

    Will keep you all posted,

Many thanks for the well wishes, they are appreciated :D

    Hugs,

    Jen

    Heya,

I agree they are very important questions but instead of just one garden, I now have 2 (front and back), they haven't had much attention this year to be honest, I planted some winter/spring bulbs in November (or there abouts) so there is a bit of colour out there. In the front garden we've chopped the huge magnolia tree thing down, just got the stump to dig up, thats the boys job, not mine :hehe: We're going to take the pathing slabs up from the front garden and lay a new lawn and we're going to use the slabs in the back garden for a little patio I want at the back of the garage (the back of the garage is nearest the house but it will all become clear when I take some pics and post them up on here).

I tried sowing some seeds a few weeks ago but because I had to leave them down there during the week and with the hot weather we had and them not being watered as often as they should have, I think I've failed miserabley at that as they are all now dead, I might start afresh after we've unpacked in the house, as I'm desparate to grow my own tomatoes as last year I only managed to grow a little tiny tomato (which was smaller than a pea) so this year it would be nice just to get 2 tomatoes, one for me and one for Paul :hehe:

Last day at work tomorrow, can't wait, but I've got packing up to do still here in my bedroom and I can't really be bothered, my legs are still aching something awful after the busy weekend, my right knee is bruised to b*ggery and I am so tired so will try and get an early night tonight :)

Will keep you all posted on the progress of our new adventure :D

    Hugs,

    Jen
