I bought some Aubergine plants from Victorian Nursery. “Black Beauty” variety
I put them in a quality compost mix in growbag top, and they have been in greenhouse alongside my others plants, in their own growbag.
They have been there for just over a month .. and very little growth ... ?
The leaves are green .. but a light green (not sure if this is correct) ........ Cucumber, peppers, chillies & tomatoes are thriving and have put on huge growth in this time.
Even some paprika peppers started from seeds at same time are much further forward ........ it just seems that they have hardly grown since planting. One of them has some small holes in leaf .. but growth is still same as others.

Is this normal ? ....... never grown Aubergines before.

    Hi Sargan,

Mine have been slow to get away this season, not much bigger than yours.

I know they need a minimum overnight temp of 10 degrees & some of the recent nights have been cooler than that so that might be whats holding them back.

Basically, we need it to warm up a bit more, wheres summer gone ?

Mine are slow getting away too. Must be the distinct lack of temperature plus the ivy 'tree' that's shadowing the greenhouse. Have to get the pruning saw out.

We sometimes forget what lack of light and warmth can do.

Anyone with Gilbert White's "Natural History of Selbourne" can read up about a terrible summer where the sun didn't shine, the crops failed and the whole country stank.

They didn't know what was causing it at the time, but he had unwittingly documented the effects of an Icelandic volcano erupting all summer.
