I suppose it was a bit daft to have a BBQ the day before the estate agents came around to take those all important pictures for "rightmove", however I was still staggered to emerge from the kitchen to find my husband and his friend smiling indulgently (beer in hand) whilst our toddlers were pulling the flower heads from all the plants in the front garden. The pics show an odd display of waving naked geum stems and scattered petals. aaaaghhh....

Don't worry, Mrs B. The agent will probably include a picture of your tots decapitating the flowers and add a caption saying something along the lines of: 'a paradise for small children'.

I love estate agent-speak. We once got sent details of a house which had 'exceptionally generous fenestration'. It had quite large windows.

Whereabouts are you hoping to buy? I love North Wales and often feel I was somehow born in the wrong place.

I've always viewed husband and toddlers in much the same way as I view wild animals - delightful to look at, certainly two species worth saving, but much safer when kept in a secure compound!
