Hi all, Im new here and new to grow yer own. Just got my first greenhouse and raised beds. Spent a fair amount buying seeds and was wondering if you all buy new seeds each year or save them from the crop?
Some I have are Sungold Toms, red peppers, chillis, aubergines, brocolli, cauliflower, broad bean, french bean, peas, and a few others I cant remember just now.
Also, some of them I bought will still be left so can I use them next year if I keep them indoors and dry?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I do a mixture of new seeds and those that I've saved from the crop. No problem in keeping them as long as its a cool dry place; I use an old tupperware box with a small silica gel packet in it to absorb any moisture

Most seeds keep for years if you keep them dry & cool as Loofah says. I've got some 6 year old tomato seed packets that have been OK again this year. There are a very few seeds like parsnip that don't keep even one year and you have to buy fresh.

    Hi Russel,

I tend to do a mix of both but this tends to be because I have a raised garden bed and I like to rotate what I plant in it each year to avoid having any problems with pests etc. There's no problem with keeping old seeds and I also use the silica gel packet technique that Loofah mentioned.
