Are there any other Jeff fans on here? In my eyes, the greatest singer to ever walk this planet.

Was confirmed today that the movie 'Greetings From Tim Buckley' is to see Jeff played by some unknown actor from Gossip Girls... but I'll probably avoid seeing it because I know it's not Jeff.

    If you don't know who he is, check the video out;

That was very good Kyle, like Radiohead meeting Jeffery Lee Pearce & Gene Loves Jezebel.

Hate it when that happens to your push bike though, insurance wouldn't pay up last time.

I think Jeff's a mix of Led Zeppelin & Billie Holiday.

      My favourite song by Jeff.

Story short, Jeff's dad is cult American singer-songwriter Tim Buckley, he left Jeff's mum when she was pregnant with him, this song is about Jeff not being invited to Tim's funeral when he was about 8, but Tim's step-sons were (and they were mentioned at the service as his sons, and Jeff wasn't)

Kyle, I've not heard of this fella before. Had to go to I.tunes to listen as I couldn't get the videos to work.

Anyway, I'm left hanging, sorry! It was your comparison to Zep that got me going. Nothing in my eyes can replace Zeppelin/Robert Plant......I'm a life long fan and have Zep's full British collection, on vinyl no less. I bought there first album at 14 years of age and the 'love affair' still goes on!

I never got to see Zeppelin live. Too young my parents said and I've still not forgiven them for that. Seen Robert many times and he's never less than fantastic on stage.

So, lecture over, I'm too biased........Sorry!

I don't like much of Led Zeppelin!

Also, Jeff did a few covers of Led Zep songs (Plant once covered 'Song To The Siren' which is a Tim Buckley song and dedicated it to Jeff) and he sounds better! But I'm also biased :D

Jeff's been dead for 14 years, btw.. if anyone thought he was still alive. He was just 30 at the time.

Thanks for that Kyle. I have a problem with these slow, sometimes dismal songs, it brings my mood right down, which is probably why I can't get my head round Jeffs music. He has/had a good voice though!

I'm not saying I don't like 'slowies' either, just has to be the right song and voice behind it, if you get my meaning. I'm not just into rock, I like blues and opera too. Currently getting a kick from Josh Groban.

Each to their own of course! :)

The jury's out for me I'm afraid. My son was agreat fan of David Sylvian and subsequently followed Morrisey. Jeff Buckley seems to fall into the same individualistic category - cannot really see any 'Billie Holiday' influence - sorry Kyle.........

Sorry Kyle, you still haven't convinced me on Jeff Buckley. Now David Sylvian I like, his style and voice remind me of Bryan Ferry. Ferry is another great artist and writer but sadly has never gained the credit he's entitled too.

That David Sylvian's stuff sounds OLD and I'm guessing it's only about 10 or so years older than Jeff's album 'Grace' which hasn't timed, at all... thus, I don't like this Sylvian who sounds like every other 80s singer, bar Morrissey.

          Ryuichi Sakamoto, though
