shrub/tree id please x

    this is growing about 2ft away our green house.i have no idea what it is so need help,wil i need to keep it trimmed if its a shrub or remove if its a tree?? it didnt start leafing up untill this yr but its stump was there xx thanks[​IMG]

    I could be wrong but if there was a tree sized stump there , it could be a cherry tree that someone has taken down because it was shading the greenhouse . If it is then you'll probably find shoots coming up all over the place where the old tree roots run. We took down an old manky tree last year but left a 3' stump that now has an enthusiastic topknot that looks a lot like your growth - polllarding with prejudice!! : ))

      that could well be a possibilty:),ive just asked my oh if there was a cherry tree at some point(hes lived here for yrs it was his nanna house) hes chopped down that many trees and conifers over the yrs hes not 100% sure thou xx

      Yep as wozwoz said that is an old cherry tree re-sprouting from the base

      thanks x o dear il have to make a decision on what to do about it cos no way im i moving the greenhouse :) x
