While pulling weeds from the side of the path the other day, came across this little chap (actually there's a few), but haven't a clue what it is!
Popped him in a pot for now before condemning him to the compost bin. I did notice the Bees liked the flowers, so thinking of transplanting them somewhere better...

I can't see those flowers very well but possibly it's a verbena, google some images and see what you think, i say only possibly because although the flowers look like it the foliage doesn't, so let's see what others say too !

It is Prunella vulgaris. Common name Selfheal.
    A wild flower/ weed.

    prunella vulgaris - Google Search

Louise if you look at the stems they are square. That puts in Lamiaceae.

If it is Prunella, SausageFingers, I would be rid of it.
I planted it in my last garden and it was the worst weed I ever introduced to the place. It seeds everywhere - cracks in the paths, walls, everything. It makes big roots and is very difficult to remove. I hope never to see it again .

Thanks for the tip Alice. Looks like it will be going in the brown bin then... Have enough problems with ground eldar, coming in from neighbours garden, to contend with...

        thanks all
