I cant watch this! The only person more hateful than the 'candidates' are Alan Sugar.
I cant abide him. I hate the way no one takes him on when he's being rude or sarcastic.

He's appallingly rude. He's an inverted snob and anti-intellectual, he disrespects people with a professional qualification. His diatribe against engineers the other week is incentive enough for me to invent a DNA based unmanned bombing drone.

HEADLINE: "Engineer Takes Sweet Revenge on Sugar."

    Horrid man.

Follow him on Twitter, he's not as bad as you make out  he just doesn't want people working for him/being his business parter that can't do the job, which applies to most companies and business men.

    He's obnoxious.

If you have money there is an extra responsibility on you not to act like a knob about it.

I wouldnt let a manager speak to me in the way he speaks to people. I would not have it.

Granted the people who apply are generally selected because they are bombastic idiots, but Sugar has little respect for people who have worked hard to get difficult qualifications.
He doesnt have them and so to his mind, they arent necessary.

I bet the BBC tell him to act tough, to get people to watch it.

If he wasn't the way he is, the contestants probably wouldn't act like they do and it'd be pretty boring to watch!

You think that's obnoxious? Man, you should try working in the operating theatre with some of our 'eminent' surgeons! The more eminent they are, the worse prima donnas they are. Sugar could take tips from them, trust me! :heehee:

I dont doubt it. I find the hierarchical structure in hospitals rather puzzling.
I couldnt work in such an environment. You have to respect the skills of the team around you. A little more humility is called for.
I thought that last week when I read about the Consultant at Guys' who kicked off at the press when the Prime Minister was talking to a patient. He may have had a point, but his manner was off the scale rude.

I admire people with unique abilities, the thousands of hours spent honing specific skills.
I aspire to do the same but without the attitude! Few successful people get to the top on their own, they benefit from the work and advice of others.

I think techy geeks and engineers are less likely to have a God complex. We work in teams and there is always someone smarter than you. It keeps the ego in check!

Exactly!! I'll bet Alan Sugar is laughing all the way to the bank!!!! The last thing the BBC want is for him to become Mr Nice Guy.

None of them looked good in the end, did they? No wonder he doesn't want to employ any of these, any more!!

Thanks for finding this thread again as I was trying to find it earlier today with no luck:dbgrtmb:

I had a feeling that Tom might win it as he has already invented the curved nailfile and has managed to get into the American market which Lord Sugar is interested in:DHelen lost it in the end with her business plan and then tried at the very end to backtrack with talk of another buisness plan but it was too late then:heehee:

Gemini.fear not we shall be getting our fix again of The Apprentice probably next year as they are going to be doing the Junior one later on this year and then according to Alan{Lord Sugar}the proper Apprentice will be on our screens once again with the search for yet another Apprentice so watch this space...:D

All the business plans were appalling.

I watched with incredulity as each idea turned out to be worse than the one that preceded it.

An e-learning app which hadnt been presented to a single head teacher.
    A personal assistant/ serf's directory
A cosmetics company which hasnt tested the products.

But yes, logic and reason won out. Engineers, better by design!
Plus Tom had a very high cute factor.
