weed id please

    removed from paddock .is this poison for horses?

    Hi Gerkin,

    Looks like Fat Hen, chenopdium album. Not sure about horses, but it contains oxylates that can cause kidney & bladder problems in humans if eaten in large quantities.

    We do use it as a food, but usually eaten with food containing calcium as if can block normal calcium absorption.

    pretty sure its not fat hen ,have loads of that at my lottie ,the leaves are smooth not hairy!

    Have the leaves got a mealy feeling stuff on them ?

    Not attack, I was just trying to find out if it was Good King Henry, that grows a powdery stuff on the leaves. But from your close up I can see that the leaves are the wrong shape.

    Could be Chenopdium Murale, there are so many Goose Foots & Fat Hens though.
