    Please Help!!!

We are new to gardening, and have a potted garden on our patio. Up til now we have had great success, but we resently brought a patio nectarine tree which is not looking to happy. We have it in a large pot and used a multi-purpose compost. We have lost a lot of leafs but also have new leaf shoots growing, and fruit starts to grow but then falls off. We feed it and its placed in a poition where it gets some direct sun light part of the day and then shade too.

How can I make my tree happier!!!!

Good evening both and welcome to the site.:dbgrtmb: First thing is to stop feeding the plant, it will take any nutrients it needs from the compost this year. Also, don`t overwater, keep the compost moist but not wet.:dbgrtmb:

      Still no fruit

      Hi Everyone,

Followed the advised giving and the tree is looking good but my last peace of new growing fruit fell off about 3 weeks ago it got to about the size of a golf ball. Since then we have not had any more fruit :(.

Is this just a case of wait til next year as the tree matures or is there something more I can do??

      Thanks
      Trish and Cathy

You won't get any fruit this year if it has all dropped off. When it flowers in spring that's where the fruit starts. Fingers crossed for next year though. My cherry only ended up with 2 so not much of a harvest but it has grown so maybe next year will be better!
