Interesting stuff, Melinda. I doubt it's enough to do for Cameron, however; people have low expectations of politicians. I think he's inept and out of his depth more than anything else. But what's the alternative? One of the Millipede brothers? No thanks.

    :D

Im simply appalled by the extent and depth of the scandal; hacking dead children's phones? Paying off police, stalking and spying on terrorist victims and soldier's families- all the while professing to be a family paper and supporting the troops?

Its a venal, repulsive, corrupt story.

Plus, Im competing tomorrow and so Im not training this evening. :D

dont get me started with this, i have a few choice swearwords in my head which i will try not to use.

firstly, i refuse to buy a newspaper.
secondly, i wouldnt believe what one paper has to say about another.

that said, it is dispicable that phones were hacked of grieving families, what were the papers hoping to gain from doing that i ask you? other than another sunday morning scoop... Jesus Christ. do they think were thick!

the sooner these so called "investigave journalists" get a job that doesnt involve digging up treetreetreetree about innocent people the better.

i dare say that if we should dig a little more into the background of writers of such stories we would find something more than a skeleton in the cupboard.

Despite all the activities of the NotW it iremains the biggest selling newspaper in the UK (until next Sunday anyway) News International have also created two new internet sites, viz. The Sun on Sunday.com and The Sun on Sunday.co.uk - who was it who said 'there is no such thing as bad publicity'.

I think on balance I'm with Melinda and see litle chance of Rebekah Brooks 'falling on her sword' or more unlikely being sacked. Mr Cameron needs to be a little more humble in his approach, his defence of Coulson today is quite alarming: 'he is still a friend' and 'did a good job when working for me!'

It will be interesting to see what happens when the policemen/women involved in the receipt of payments from the newspaper?

And so to the derision of the Chamber, Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt finally stands up in Parliament and announces he is referring the News International- BSkyB consolidation to the Competition Commission.

Its taken a week! That's some leadership!

          Today we found out:

Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were on the hacked list.

Prince Charles and Camilla were on the hacked list.

That former NOTW journalist Glenn Goodman tried to buy a list of Royal phone numbers from a Royal Protection Officer! He emailed Andy Coulson for financial authorisation.

          Hilarious!

Did you catch the Today Programme a while back, when James Naughtie pronounced 'Hunt' with a 'C'? I assumed it was just an innocent gaffe, but OH, who worked on the programme several centuries ago as a humble studio manager, reckons it is highly probable that behind the scenes he is always known by the deviant version. He thinks Naughtie simply failed to make the switch.

I went off Ms Brooks the minute I saw how she spells her Christian name. I'm certain that if she had a moniker which contained an 'i' she'd draw a love heart over it instead of a dot.
