I bought onion sets (white and red sorry can't remember the variety now) which I planted in April as soon as they arrived, they were reputedly heat treated to reduce risk of flowering, however several have started to produce flower shoots, can I remove these shoots and are the onions still usable?

    Hi
I have always found the heat treated to stop them flowering / bolting 50 / 50 pot luck

Just pick the flower off and yes you can still use it to cook with
