:dh: Ok, the start of the new month & my apologies for the delay..!!:dh:

Rob came first, second & third last month but he has passed the choice to Vicky :) So Vicky has given it some thought for this month & come up with a great theme for the for this Comp I think..... :thmb:

    :thmb: This months theme is..!!
    "
    All Things Bright & Beautiful...!!

 In Victoria's own words .
:thmb: So come on everybody , I am sure there is something for all of us out there somewhere.. As this is the Enhanced comp & a lovely broad theme, maybe some of you will be able to try something new...!!

Enhancement is up to you.... Allot or not allot, that is your choice... Check the Guidelines if you haven't joined in before the comp is open to all members....!

:thmb: You are all so good at interpreting the themes in your own individual ways and get better at it all the time..!!! It really is that time of year when are starting to think about it all, good theme. :D A chance to photograph & do something special
perhaps.!! So come on, go & see what you can find..!!

    Good Luck Everyone.. [IMG]

Can everyone please look at Guideline 6 before entering as there is a slight change. Just about everyone does it anyway I know. Allot of you have commented on how it helps when trying to make decisions on votes, if they are included. So we have made it part of the competition now to keep everything fair & square for everyone...!

A Competition for Enhanced Photographic Images.

For Photos taken within the given month, enhance/improved with the use of post picture processing software.

Reasons you may wish to enhance a photo could be to compensate for mistakes made when taking the photo, or indeed to change its atmosphere completely. For example reverting to black and white or maxing out the contrast for a really vibrant sunset.

To ensure we have common starting place for competing, a few ground rules have been established. These will ensure a common standard of submission and ensure photographs are comparable for voting at the end of the month

    Please follow the guidelines below:-

1.All entries to be submitted by 23.59Hrs on the last day of the month of the competition.
    2. You can enter up to three (3) pictures.
    3. Give your picture a title
    4. Post your photos within this thread for entry into the competition.
5.Photos have to be taken within the current competition month & year

    * "Competitors are advised that they should ensure that their camera's time and date function is set correctly as EXIF data attached to most images is available to moderators and other competitors. *

6.You CAN use software for enhancement or manipulation of a single original image . This may include submission of an image comprising multiple layers of the original image.
Any image deemed to be more than one single image of multi layers, will be deleted.. Mods decision is final.
6a Please include a small thumbnail of the original photo no more than 150 pixels & a short explanation of what modifications you have done...

    7. The winner will be decided by votes by the users of the forum.

    8. The winner of the competition gets to choose the theme for the next month's competition. This theme is to be kept a separate & different theme from the" Current Monthly Photo Comp" theme.

Please post discussion for this months pictures and about the competition HERE.

:thmb: The very best of luck to you all this month !!

At least this cold weather provides some good photo oppertunities! Photo taken of Newcastle-u-Lyme town centre.
I don't allow copying and strip exif data info. But the original proof tells me...
06/12/2010 รข?? 20:45:38 (ps, camera clock not right, date is though)
    10.0 sec f/16 24.0 mm

With contrasting bright light ie streetlights and long exposures it's always better to under-expose shots. So using software to increase brightness afterwards is a better method I find. Shooting in RAW format gives far better scope for anything you need to post process. Picture is cropped to leave out the uninteresting bits and centre the clock tower.
