In this last pic the Mango from Pakistan is on the right, the other is from Brazil.

The seeds have been germinated inside kitchen paper, slightly damp with a copper based solution, in warm environment. Placed in a tightly closed jar to avoid evaporation and drop in temperatures.

I fancy having a go at growing a mango. How did you prepare the seed? do you have to take off the outer shell from the stone in the middle of the fruit and if so how did you do it?
Also does anyone know how big a mango will grow and the best way to treat one?
    thanks

Very nice Mira :thumb:; I have one mango plant about 12" tall now and another seed just germinating; I managed to germinate mine in a pot of compost on a very warm windowsill but out of direct sun.

I've also got a few Lychees growing away strongly, some Passion Fruit (from supermarket fruit), Date Palms, a Ginger root, Oranges, Grapefruits and Lemons...all from the supermarket and great fun :thumb:
