Greenthumb is a franchise, and like all franchises the customer pays top dollar. To feed your lawn get Wilkinsons soluble lawn feed at £2.79 per kilo box.:dbgrtmb:

I had a flymo, and a mate of mine still has one. We've both came to the same conclusion, they are useless.

Assuming yours is similar to the one I had, it will do one of two things to grass. It will either rip it out rather than cutting it, or it will just not bother doing anything to it other than pushing it over so you have long grass but laid down flat against the ground.

The bits it does manage to cut just lay on top of the lawn, leaving you the choice of either painstakingly raking it all up by hand, or just leave it and hope the wind blows it away, or your neighbour wants it for his compost and is prepared to collect it himself

I recently bought a cheap as chips mower and strimmer pair from B&Q for £65. The strimmer is a bit rubbish, but the mower does a great job. Also, and this seems to be quite rare at the budget end, it has nice sharp steel blades (as opposed to the useless plastic ones that quite a few mowers have these days), a grass collector, and it has adjustable cutting height.

i do agree that when i cut my lawn it looks great but as it grows i seem to have longer bits as like u said it flattens it.
i will be purchasing a new petrol one i want a cylinder but dont think my lawn is big enough to be spending that sort of money.
do you guys rate mcCulloch ?
