I was shocked to find that she looked almost normal on Gardeners' World the other week. It must have been an off day.

I also thought she looked almost human for once but I do wish she would stop the giggling as it always makes me think she is a bit pxxxed:D

Yes, you're right, Kandy. I mean, cheerful is good but ... why the 'ha ha ha I'll just pop this cutting in a pot ha ha ha it should root in a few weeks ha ha ha place in a semi shaded position ha ha ha'? Either she's really nervous or completely potted herself.

On the FAQs page of the BBC's coverage:
BBC - RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park 2011 - RHS Tatton Park Flower Show FAQs

      is this gem:
"Where do Carol / Joe / Monty get their clothes from?

The presenters of the programmes provide their own clothes, which they acquire from a range of stores. We are unable to answer questions about individual garments."

Those boots in white are a bit of punch in the eye, maybe in black they would have looked better. Also she is a bit masculine and a dress doesn't look quite convincing on her...

A few years ago, when I was forced to have rather more to do with council officials than I would have wished, I decided there must be a shop where you can buy your 'junior council official' starter outfit, a combo consisting of drip-dry short sleeved shirt, maroon polyester tie and co-ordinating clipboard.

Perhaps there is a similar shop for mad gardening show presenters.

That would be to show the surrounding area and keep the show lively I imagine...

Now that you mention this and I think of the programmes in Sweden, I realize how static they are, lots of them...
You can watch at the same faces for hours, or a bunch of people sitting around a table for endless time...And they are talking so low volume that you can barely hear them. You don't have that problem with Italian programmes (eh eh)!

German programmes are just adorable...very varied, good quality and really nice people.

What I find outstanding on British tv is the frequence and excellent quality under all point of views of children programmes.
In Italy, although we practically worship children, programmes for children are very little and not particularly outstanding. (although "mio mao" made it to England...[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0u_7_yWCf4[/url])

As far as Icelandic tv, I don't know how on earth they could come out with the excellent series "Lazytown", but they did...

I think Carol tries too hard with her outfits - she does tend to overdo the floral look with her dresses and earrings. However she does make a statement with her clothes unlike Christine Walkden who doesn't even try - if anyone is a prime candidate for a make over she is.

Don't pick on Monty - frayed cuffs and all - at least he isn't gardening in expensive Belstaff jackets like Toby and Co. last year. Even at the shows Monty doesn't do the collar and tie business - good on him for being himself and not bowing to convention.
