    Hi everyone,
Please forgive me, I am very new to gardening and have no idea what to do. I have an old tree stump in my garden, which I have noticed is surrounded by mushrooms. However I have also seen the mushrooms are spreading, they are taking over my garden. I have recently moved to my new house so, eventually will be asking for more help. But for now, can anyone tell me how to get rid of them?

I have added a picture below, incase all mushrooms are not the same.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lisa,

They are only digesting the remains of the tree roots, perfectly natural, don't worry about them:thumbsup:

    Hi Lisa1987

For an accurate identification you'll really need to take some good quality macro photos of, or at least provide a detailed description of, the stem, gills, cap margin and base of the toadstool. Or, you could just happily accept that they are a natural fungus, helping to break down the woody stump in your new garden, and are actually playing an important part in your garden's lifecycle. If you really want them gone then you'll probably have to think about removing the stump.
