Planted Plum Roma Tomato seeds a few weeks ago and not a peep in the soil... how long do i wait before i start again with new seeds?

In Tesco today i found Veg U Grow Monew Maker seedlings reduced, so pack of four, three look good. Can these go straight into a grow bag?

If seeds work, or replant work i can place them in a seperate grow bag later.

Also picked up Veg U Like seedlings of Cheyene chilli pepper so 4 of these, should i pot them or growbag?

Someone suggested to me last year to put cling film over the top, if the toms are in a pot, just to warm the soil. Are they outside? It may just take a little time.

Its too early outside, especially seedlings.

You need to grow then on on a widow sill if you dont have a greenhouse, its normal to plant in a grow bag once the first flowers appear, by that time the plants anything from 5 to 7 inches high.

thanks all, working in a greenhouse, in trays raised off the floor on boxes.

Think i will plant some more and put cling film on them. They are next to herbs that have mostly started so if they don't work warmed up maybe its the seeds.

will plant seedlings in pots first and let them grow a bit before grow bags then.

Hi Adam,If you have an airing cupboard you could try putting the tray in there and see if that helps them to germinate quicker and see if the heat helps them along:).

I think it too cold in an unheated greenhouse for tomatoes, even if you got them to germinate they won't develop in temps below 10 deg C.

    Hi Adam!
It's still far too cold to start toms without heat and still too cold to put any young plants into an unheated greenhouse.
As has already been suggested start the seeds either on a window sill or airing cupboard. Then prick out into small pots to keep on the window sill until the greenhouse warms up. If you plant out too soon they turn blue.
Your chillies are a bit hardier than toms, but I'd still grow them on for a week or so indoors before planting out.
