What's this yellow flower?

    I bought a box of seeds for £1.99 from Aldi at the start of the year had a mix of flowers on the box to brighten the borders, can't remember what i was going to get to be honest :heehee: these yellow flower plants have come up rather nice but don't have a clue what they are, anyone know? and will they come up next year or are they one time only? :D

    I`m probably totally wrong, but they look like a form of Calendula to me. ( Pot Marigolds ).:scratch:

    I was thinking perhaps one of the Gailardias or Rudbeckias. I have had both and the leaves look sort of more like one of those ... :scratch:

    Think I agree with you Victoria - Gailardia rather than Rudbeckia.

    If it is a Calendula it will have a very distinct smell if you crush the leaves. But not sure how I can discribe the smell..

    Calendula Officinalis. They will come up next year in vast numbers as they seed very easily. They can actually swamp your border so if you get them all over the place you can thin them out. I would recommend thinning unless you only intend to have these in the border.
