First bumblebee?

Why I am posting this in EDIBLE GARDENING is that just as I finished planting carrots, garlic chives and rocket, I saw a bumblebee! Presumably the first one of the year\?

There have been a couple buzzing about on my winter flowering Viburnum tree all week

 

winter heathers and mahonia are the biggest draws for bumble and hive bees in my garden at this time of the year. Amazing how they survive

 

We saw a bumble bee in B & Q the other day!

According to The One Show last night any that you see just now are pregnant queens looking for somewhere to nest.

 

that explains the one I saw looking so tired!

 

As I type there is a huge bumble bee buzzing away at my front room window as if trying to get in .... Buzzzzz:snz:zzzzzzzz

I was well chuffed when i've seen bumblebees this past week.

 

Awww! I love bees :D

 

Saw my first one on the weekend in the park. Always amazes me just how big they are. My son is only 2 and wanted to catch it. It's hard to explain that it's simply not a good idea. Bless.
