I'm starting to think I have a self cleaning house. Its brilliant, we've been here over a year now and its still not dirty. Sometimes I notice that my son and I have accidentally brought mud in from the garden, but 15 minutes later it just vanishes.

I also have a magic floor. I put my sweaty, muddy clothes in a neat pile, and then they vanish. About a day later they reappear all clean in my cupboard. Its fantastic.

Me thinks you'd better go hide Clueless! :heehee:

Yes and there's all those little odd jobs that seem to take care of themselves too.

You spend a hard day slogging at the housework, plonk your bum in a chair five minutes before they come through the door and they think you've been sitting down all day! :)

I'm sorry???, did Clueless say something wrong???:scratch::D

I haven't got a self cleaning house, unlike lucky Clueless, so I have to do it myself. I have, when I've been going out somewhere, asked the two cats to hoover, mop and dust but, nope, not a stroke is done when I get back. I mean, is that fair?:cry3::D:heehee:

if i lived alone like i am guessing you do then at least it would be in the same state I had left it in

and i think that my cats are more likely to tidy up after them selves than the OH at the mo !lol :heehee:

I hear you, CK:WINK1:......i do all the cleaning here, and my oldest daughter is home from College until the end of the summer, and it drives me crazy when they use a dish and leave it on the counter, on top of the dishwasher:scratch:....i mean you were just there to set it on top of the dishwasher and you couldnt bend down and put the damn thing in it:heehee:!!!

Other then vaccuming their floors and doing their bedding, i stopped cleaning their rooms a few years ago.....and you know what, now that they have to do it, they stay clean:yess:.....go figure:yess::yess:!!

When i've been away for the week, I come back to find the sink piled high, all the cutlery gone from the draw, no cups or plates on the shelves & five or six filthy dishcloths in various parts of the sink.

It seems that getting a clean dishcloth out is a token gesture, at least it looks like she was going to do the washing up.

Then, when I go to do something theres the other get out clause "I was going to do that"

"Yes, but you haven't" is the usual response which goes straight over her head.

I can't work out why someone who never cleans anything but the bath buys so many dusters, anti bacterial sprays, anything by Mr Muscle and everything by JML:DOH:

I mean, what use is a fancy plastic handled static dust attracting thinger to someone who has never dusted in her life:what:

I asked my boy to help clean the house the other day & he said there was no point as it would only get dirty again, Mother has taught him all she knows by the sound of it:DOH:

In my defence though, I'm the only 'bread winner' in the house. I nearly said I'm the only one that goes to work but my missus would kill me if I said that:)

I'm also the one that does all the gardening, and any DIY and household repairs.

The wife pulls her weight. She does all the housework and of course she has our son to look after on her own while I'm out at work resting:)

I took some time off for a couple of weeks once between jobs, and I tell you, I was glad to get back to work for a rest.

I sometimes wind the wife up (on purpose) in the morning by telling her to go downstairs ahead of me to see if any cups of tea have magically appeared:heehee:

I tried the same idea of leaving their rooms a couple of years ago, but they still didn't clean them:mad:. I have 3 'adult' boys, 2 on summer break with all the same problems..... I'm on holiday is all I hear :rolleyespink: The day consists of getting up at lunchtime, taking over the couches in the lounge, plugging in laptops and turning on the TV. They only move for eats, drinks and loo breaks.... oh and to put their feet up while I vacuum around them :wallbang:

Having said all that, they will do jobs when they are asked!

Just opened this. It is an interesting read, humors in areas.

As the women of my household, I do work out of the house, 40 to 50 hours weekly. My husband is able because he owns his own company works as he pleases.

My house right now is messy, but I am frankly to tired to care. IT is clean in the areas that need to be clean.

Back to the realization that most men have no clue: I could be working in our gardens neck and neck with him on a Saturday, and about 5PM we call it quits, and he says "So when is supper" . Its at that moment I stop myself from turning around and hitting him with the shovel in my hand.

And I did say the word "most men" so for you men, who feel you have a clue please do not take offense. As I am too tired right now to fight this battle and am enjoying my Friday eveing Martini.
