Rather than high jack the other thread, here are three pics to show just how much behind our daffodils are this year compared to past years
    The pics are all from March , 13.3.2004, 24.03.2005 and 25.3. 2010
They are certainly going to be 'Easter Lilies' this year :)

The daffodils where I live are just coming upm but I see this as an advantage rather than a draw back - we can enjoy them longer into the spring.

First post for me, but something that is really bugging me this year.

All of my daffodils have been attacked by slugs and snails this year, stripping the flowers completely.

Never had this problem before, anyone know why it's happened this year, or have I just been fortunate before? Have tried to avoid using pellets.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Ruby,

    welcome.

Never heard of that problem before. Where and how are you growing your daffodils.

I'm looking at it as a good thing (the late flowering I mean). Because it meant that the local kids didn't steal all the publicly planted ones, to give on Mother's Day - which is what usually happens...!
