The surfinias are nearly done in my planters along with some of the other plants...looking a bit tatty now.I want to pull them out and replace the compost...What would folks plant next to give some colour through the autumn?

Trailing begonias will take you nicely to the first frosts. After that pansies violas and ever green stuff to take you though the winter. Not inovative I guess but tried and tested!

Same here the few surfinias I grew have become very leggy , and I am an avid dead header and feeder !! I cut them all back last week hoping for a bit of a show in September. The shock wave petunias I grow are doing great :yess:
So now no busy lizzies , surfinias looking like they have had pups , my virginia creeper thinks its October.........what next :wallbang:

Dai mate , I know trailing is trailing , and leggy is leggy . My Surfinias went leggy :D They red ones just seemed to lose their body and got a bit straggly. the lime colour ones I got did not perform at all.

Also very disappointed with my surfinias this year, they just have not come on anything like they normally do, yet same positions, same water, same deadheading
