    Greetings.

I have been walking by the river and pictured these beauties.
I have no idea what they are called but they are lovely.
    Does anyone know the name?

    Thanks.

Yes it's purple loosedrift, I bought a packet of 'campanula glomerata' from ebay and they germinated very well but all turned out to be purple loosedrift, pretty but not what I was expecting.:heehee:

Yes its lovely Postman. I have it growing in my garden - where it likes damp conditions.

Its now a banned plant in parts of the USA, where it has become their equivalent of Japanese knotweed. As its not an American native, it has no enemies and so it is spreading at an alarming rate. But its well behaved in the UK.

One of my favourite perennials despite the USA banning. There are a number of varieties available and I have never had any problem with spreading or self seeding.
