    Hi,

Just moved into a new house. New to gardening as well. Can you please help identify these plants/trees ?

First set of 5 photos attached. 3 more to follow in next thread.

Photo A - is a tree, which had some yellow coney flowers in late spring.

Photo B - More bush like plant. Just started flowering with small jasmine like white flowers (flowers are flowering upside down)

Photo C - A small tree like. No flowers, no fruits or vegetables.

Photo D - A small tree. Stays dry; did not see lot of leaves in the last 4 months. no flowers

Photo E - Bush like plant. No flowers in the last 4 months. Thick leaves.

    Thanks,
    Paddy.

        Welcome to Gardeners Corner gvpaddy.

        B. I'll confirm Silver surfer's ID.....Fuschia. I don't know the variety, but from experience I know it can be rampant. The more you prune, the more it grows!

        E. Looks like a Choisya, but I can't be certain. :)

          Photo B possibly....

          fuchsia hawkshead - Google Search

          ?? A wild guess anyway.

I only say as I have one in our garden and it looks similar (very small little flowers), but cant be sure without a close up.

It's okay Silver surfer, you're not seeing things. :) For some reason my first post disappeared, I posted a second one and the first one reappeared. So I deleted the first one!

Does that make sense! Think I'm sending us both crazy here! :heehee:

Very happy to see the responses; thanks to all.

          Here are some close-up shots.

In the same order as original question.

Silver Surfer, I think you are right about the Pineapple broom - the flower was like a pineapple.

          Thanks and Regards,
          Paddy

Ok Photo B definitely isn't Fuchsia Hawkshead, as it would be completely white/grey almost. Definitely not Sarah Delta as I have that too and that would be larger with a vivid blue/purple centre. Would be inclined to go with silver surfers suggestion of Fuchsia magellanica alba

          Bigger pics... thank you.
          1. Cytisus battandieri. Common name pineapple broom
          2. Fuchsia sp or cultivar. There are over 2000 named ones so very difficult to be sure.Could be Fuchsia magellanica alba.

          3. Possibly Photinia.

          4. Looks like a very very ill Ceanothus. Maybe once it was variegated.

            Hello there,
The fuschia looks the same as one that is in my garden. This was already here and established when we moved in last year. I think it is called 'White Knights Pearl '. It has a quite vigarous growth and the lady that lived here before us was named ' Pearl ' hence my thinking that the fuschia I looked up is the ' White Knights..... '. Hope this is of help
