Celariac help needed

    Hi has anyone the answer to growing good celeriac have done all it says on the packet started tehm off in cell trays in the greenhouse planted them out in early may keeping them watered and mine are still only golf ball size, When alking round a national trust property where they have a large veg garden theres were 6-7inches in diamiter any help would be most welcome

    Stu` I am growing them for the first time at a clients veg garden. So far, they are about 4 to 5 inches across. Have you been taking the outside leaves off?:thumb:

      Hi Daitheplant ,No havent been taking of the outside leaves ,had no mention of this either on the seed packet or my garden book will give it a try or am I to late

        Neil, that was a great link, thank you. - I have seen Dr. Cook's website before, I was looking for hints on butternutsquash. - He really grows some fabulous stuff and is obviously more than willing to share his knowledge.

        There are two kind of celeriac, one with much stronger flavour and smaller in size, so they may have different requirements.

        Maybe I dident get them started soon enough Iwill let them stay in the ground and see what happens over the winter
