    Hello,

I hope I am at the place for writing that.
My young quince tree has a problem only at the top, near some of the fruits, I think it is a cancer, and you what do you think about?
What can I do against that??
At once, I had just cut all the bad fruits and wait...The tree seems right ...

Hi I think you meancanker not cancer.

Are all the fruit like this , because its a young tree you can easily cut all this out , throw away or burn and clean your pruners as you go .

Its a fungal infection so you can spray , make sure you clear away all the old dead leaves under the tree this will help as well, give it a good mulch and next year keep well watered throghout the year

Thanks for your answer and forgive me please for the mistake, it's of course canker!
I don't write good english....:o, I am french you know.
There are just some fruits like that and, as you have said , I have cut them and thrown away (here we can't burn anything at this period ), and cleaned my pruner too.I think that your advices seem very good and I must admit that probably I haven't give sufficient water to my quince.
      I'll try to make better...
I envisage to use Bordeaux mixture, as antifongic, just before it lost its leaves and also at spring just before the grow of the new leaves. What do you about it? Is it useful??

Youre english is fine I cant moan my spelling is awful :heehee:

Yes the bordeaux would be fine , if you can get it lots of chemicals have been banded in Europe.

A tree that is well fed and watered will be more healthy.

      Speak soon au revoir
