:dh:One of their camera car employees actually lives in our village...!!! You can sometimes see the camera up when parked on his drive when he is doing maintenance.. It does look very big brother then as it swivels round looking at you..!!!:dh:

Thanks Steve, I'd heard about Street View but hadn't bothered to look at it until today.
Spent a couple of hours on it!! Visited the street in Epsom where I grew up and took a walk to my first primary school which I hadn't seen for 50+ years. Then went up to Lancs and looked at the house where I lived for my first 6 months.

BTW the neighbours over our garden wall are just as quiet as those over yours and many have been there for 300 years. My late father used to put the fertility of our garden down to the proximity of "the neighbours" :D

Mr Kandy was caught four times while out for his lunch time walk at work when they came past and he was showing melast night where our car is parked each day when he goes to work and then he has to walk about a 1/4 of a mile to get to his office:p

Steve,it's a pity you can't borrow some of your neighbours land to extend your garden for growing your flowers and veggies:D

Had a look for our house on there - but the joys of living down a small counry lane - they didn't come down here - probably didn't like the number of potholes in the road - would've made for a very bumpy drive! I did however check out our house in Canada, the house I grew up in in Perth, West Australia - they've rebuilt it! Apparently their policy is to blur out faces where applicable, as well as licence plate numbers on vehicles where they are readable - but that relies on their software apparently, so some can get missed.

You can contact google to blur images and number plates if they do overlook them and they're fine about it.

A friend keep several breeds of poultry that are 'favoured' by certain members of the 'travelling community' and was most perturbed to find out that the house has been caught on camera. Luckily, there is no evidence whatsoever of any livestock on the image.

Don't assume that these are up-to-date photo's, the map of where I live is several years out of date. The picture of my house shows the car before last. My present I've had for five years, the last one I had for six years. So that makes the picture at least 11 years old.

I loved it at first, being away from somewhere and being able to show someone where I used to live etc.

Had a look recently - my word! Could look into my kitchen, saw many houses in my street that I wouldn't see. Don't like it.

BB, you are right takemore, how did he know? nostradamos???

No smoking in cars, every where you are now will be monitured. Stepford 'wives', and hubbies you men!

I used this the other day too. Don't know if I like it though, too close. You can see right into my kitchen! (Don't do it mates, not a pretty sight!). A bit scary I think, and like BB who knows what 'they're' watching? Pity it doesn't stop all the bad things.

    cheers

Its clever, but so far I know of two computers that have died after the owners had spent a couple of hours looking at it. They both have had to have their systems restored.
I've also noticed that when looking at it, my Norton ant virus picks up at least 17 tracking cookies within minutes of using it.
