Some of you will remember my thread Leylandii Thug, dated 1st May 2011.

Just to recap, the roots of my neighbours hedge had created serious damage to my drains, which were replaced twice in six years, also to the foundations of my bungalow which was discovered on replacing the drains, the second time.

After discussion about this with my neighbour, he decided a few weeks later to remove the hedge. This has been done this week and the pics below show after and before (taken from different directions) it's removal.

What remains now are the stumps, my neighbour hasn't decided whether he is going to take them out yet, also the young Hebe's which I grew for him two years ago to replace the Leylandii, as it was dying anyway. Unfortunately, he hasn't pruned the Hebe's to make them fill out. So I have offered to tidy them up for him. Hopefully, this done we will see a new and thriving hedge next year. :)

Thanks Ziggy, the bad winds come from a different direction, so no problem there. :)

Now you will enjoy watching the little ones bouncing up and down all night on the trampoline and watching you through bino's from the wooden house :-)

No thank goodness your foudations are now safe and your neighbours complied

Many years ago, my neighbour cut down my Rowan tree/Mountain Ash/Prevent a sailor from drowning tree, It was taking all the water from his ground

I was a bit upset , but kept the trunk as a boy scout Pole (still have it)
He was an exceptional gardener and had the best garden in town, won many competitions
He died several years ago, and now my next door garden is about 3' high in weeds, that the rent to let owner eventually cuts back every two years :-(

YOU therefore have a very good neighbour well done

              Jack McH

Thanks Jack, I don't need net curtains in my house, well I didn't. This morning when I got up I opened the curtains and was caught out by four pairs of staring eyes from that trampoline, my neighbours young daughters and their friend. I feel a bit exposed now! :)
