Hi shygardener; its Impatiens Balfourii; a lovely less invasive annual 'balsam', they can self seed prolifically but only grow to around 2ft and are easily pulled up where not wanted. I had this in my old garden and loved it.....all most as much as the bees :thumb:

It looks very much like a Balsam ...Similar to the Himalayan Balsam but yours look quite low growing ?.It could well become a problem plant if not controlled..as it will throw seeds everywhere .
Sure someone else will add to my thoughts ..

      Dave

Hi Dave; I have grown this plant and it's in no way a problem it's a lovely delicate little plant (max 2ft for me), yes it self seeds prolifically in the right conditions but nothing like it's monstrous cousin the Himalayan Balsam..:thumb:

It is a lovely plant that caught my eye last year. I was going to stock it until I noted it was listed as a problem species by the Environment Agency
