We do get the occasional wet year and a lot more than when I was traipsing through the Atacama :heehee:

Today it's very cold and very sunny.

        4wheel drive stuff

        Evening All,
Well its been -6 most of today and ive just got the car in the barn and the reading is -8, a really cold one,

Ive been out in the car today and it was 4 wheel stuff to get down the track and onto the road.

I did have the radio on and the world service was saying that in some parts of russia its -30c and people have frozen to death in thier homes,

It's only when you read or hear some of the things in other parts of the world that people have to put up with that you can thank your lucky stars you we're born in the west.

But remember to feed the birds at first light if you can? they really need a help in hand at this time of the year.:help:

Sunny but bitterly cold here today. The temperature stayed at or below freezing all day.
Pruning and pollarding some small Field Maple trees at work today, I noticed quite a lot of sap running from the wounds where we had cut them. Within minutes the sap was freezing and forming small icicles* as it dripped from the plants!
*(Or should that be sapicles?) :what:

Freezing or below here today. We were felling and limbing a tree at work and I got to the stage where I couldn't feel my fingertips.

I've now postponed tomorrow's work until next week as it's forecast to be just as cold. Maybe only around freezing, but when that east wind gets up it feels much colder.

It started off with sunshine and blue skies, then around noon it started to cloud up and has never got up above 32f. The forecast for Cheshire this weekend is snow and more snow..............we'll see!

Cold, cold, cold; strangely we don't seem to have had hard frosts up to now, but several nights of 0 to -3 degrees has been enough to make the ground hard and unworkable

A couple of days ago it was actually colder at 1pm than it was at daybreak the same day, cars were icing up when the sun was up :what: :D

It's currently -6 here, our coldest night of the winter so far....

And we have the possibilty of significant snow tomorrow......time to grab a seed catalogue and a cuppa :coffee: :D

In the sunny part of the garden yesterday the temperature rose to +3 (measured in the shade) but in the shady part of the garden the frost remained all day.

Last night it only went down to -3 but very little frost.

I hope we don't get much snow in the south on Sunday as I have about 300 miles of driving to do.

Minus 3 here this morning, a slight frost and a beautiful day - clear skies and brilliant sunshine.
Now if only it was 25 degrees warmer :WINK1:

        Clear sky, freezing all day,

        Hi all,
Well i was up at 6am today, and as i opened the shutter in the bathroom the sky was filled with a million or more stars, they looked like diamond's just gleaming way up high, the moon was going away "sort of saying thats my shift finished"

The night air was freezing cold and i couldnt help think of all the animals trying to get through another rough day, even the fox has a right to live but food is'nt easy for any of them to find in this sort of weather,

It's been -6 all day here in dept 23 france and the night temp will be -10 deg's,

If you think on and feel like doing something good? Feed the birds:thumbsup:
