Aaaaah! It's arrived in my garden. Went out to remove the leaves from my toms, as I learnt from the tomatoes not ripening thread, and there it was. I think it's only just got there as it was on 3 plants, not all, and it's not on the patio yet. Looks like I'll be looking for green tomato recipes asap.

Oops, obviously should have put that on the blight thread. Sorry!

Pick and wash the ones without blight spots and ripen them in trays indoors. We were hit with blight 2 years ago but managed to salvage quite a few toms by ripening indoors.

        Hi Dave,
That's what I'm hoping for but am prepared for the worst as I've been hit with it the past 3 years and was actually quite excited that nothing had happened so far. I was a bit gutted when I saw the rot had set in! I think the bulk of these ones are too green though, iykwim. We'll see.

Liz, spray them with Bordeaux mixture asap, it won't cure blight but it slows down the spread, and should prevent it getting into the fruit. It will give your plants a couple of weeks protection.

Yep. Found it on a patio plant today so pulled all the toms off and disposed of the plants. Think it was just one so binned that whole plant and hoping that the rest of the compost will be okay just with the plants removed. Any thoughts? Made some green tomato soup from an old WI book which looks promising!

Yep, keep the infected plants out of the compost system, grade them category 1 under the Torchwood system and incinerate.
