    Good morning all!

I've just noticed that one of my garden plants is beginning to turn and that there are lots of seeds that look ready to be harvested. I have no idea what type of plant it is as it was already there when I moved in, but I would love to be able to plant more of the same. I guess my questions are:-

    a) What is the plant?
    b) When is the best time to harvest seeds?
    c) Is there a best time to plant the seeds?

Any info you could give me would be hugely appreciated, I've not had any luck with search engines!

    Regards.

    Sarah.

Hi, it looks like a member of the Echium family, put this in a search engine & see what you come up with. i would suggest that if it is a memer of the Echium family that you harvest seed now & store it till spring. I grow Echium Pininana on a regular basis & this is what i do
    Hope this helps....Bill

Is it though ? does look like echium but as soon as I saw the picture I thought Polemonium or jacobs ladder can't see the leaf very well on your picture you'd be able to tell better from that.

When I looked at the picture of the Echium from my phone last night it looked spot on, but having looked at a full size picture of both plants on my PC this morning, it does indeed look like it's Polemonium Caeruleum. Thanks Simbad.:yess:

I have it in my garden Rosie, you could collect the seed and sow in spring but I find it seeds around everywhere on its own:), there's also a white version.
