Helenium

    Do I have to cut down my Helenium plant please?

    Hello Layla. Heleniums can be cut back either in Autumn (now is OK) or you can leave until early spring, the birds may have a peck at the seed heads.

    Trim for the winter you could leave for a couple of weeks or if they look realy scraggy trim now, have a look at the base you should have a rossete of little new plants, watch out for slugs , esecialy the tiny black ones .
    What variety have you got I have Sahin early flower bargain years ago from the garden centre should of been £6.00 but I had £1.75 huge pot I knew it would re flower .
