Is this a sloe berry (blackthorn) bush please.

    Looks like Sloe to me.
    Has the bush got thorns on it as well? If it has then it's a Sloe.

    As for where to find them, they're quite common around farmland and field edges.
    Just follow any footpath which runs along a field edge with a decent sized hedge and you'll probably come across them sooner or later. Or if you have any scrubby areas or common land nearby you will probably find Sloe growing in clumps or thickets there.

      Yay my sloe thread! I was just about to post that myself. By the way, I found one single giant thorn on the bush mentioned in my thread earlier today, so despite not being particularly sour I think I may have sloes.

      And it looks the same as the OPs so hopefully they have sloes too :D

        Yup..they look like sloes to me too..they are around the size of a pea.

        There are far too many sloes round here for my liking...far too many!!

          Yes confirmed my with the thorns. Picked two pounds of them. The sloe gin is on the go now. Going to make some sloe vodka friday. So will have a happy christmas.
