Oh yes Slimbridge, I remember it from the early 60s when we took my little cousin there for the first time & we have continued on & off over the years to go there.. Almost unrecognisable now to how it first was I can tell you.. :D

:sunny: Thanks Armandii, that is what is nice sometimes, a thread can start off one way then turn another & become more interesting, well I hope that is so anyway.. That whole area is filled with history & always good to hear of people & families with some kind of tie that lived & worked in the area once and then moved away for whatever reason.. :sunny: I hope Scrungee & family find the links interesting...

        Do not forget Scotland

I have FREE accomodation for you 25 miles from the Capitol Edinburgh and 12 miles from St Andrews

In my home, spare room clean, come and go as you please I will provide Scottish breakfast but you will have to make your own arrangements for main meals, Buy in and DIY, visit restaurant, or bring in Take away

My home is a simple terraced house in a Scottish Estate, or I can ask our old Aunt in her big house which has ensuite to let you stay there (That would be nice excellent views over the Forth to Edinburgh Castle)

Mines the poor mans house :-(

What a generous offer Jack. The views from your Aunt's house are stunning.

The first three pics, the house and view, was the family home now owned by my Spinster Aunty, aged 78
She has tremendous rapport for the RNLI, and the PDSA

I was considering changing my name to RNLI McHammoclashing PDSA and bar :-)

That looks stunning. Only abut 25 miles away. Might be worth a shout for the anniversary if I can remember when that is :(
