    Hi, Genie, well my pond is more natural and is heavily planted on all sides but for floating plants I would suggest Bog Bean which will give you white flowers and grow steadily in your pond without a pot. Water Soldier is a nice one which looks like a Pineapple top floating in the water, that will sink to the bottom in the Winter and hibernate and then come back up in Spring.:D Can I ask how deep is the pond?:scratch::D

    If it's a small pond, just put in water lilies. They'll soon fill up the space.

    A white one, a red one and a yellow one.

      The pond is 2ft deep but the water level is about 1 1/2 ft

        Hi Genie, There's a Thread called "frothy problem advise needed" which might help by picking bits out of it that might interest you.

        I've just looked at the original list of pond plants I was considering for my pond many moons ago and here's an extract:

        Floaters: Echornia {Water Hyacinth}
        Hydrocharis [Frog Bit]
        Pistia [Water Lettuce, not hardy]
        Utricularia [Bladderwort]

        So there's some more to look at.:D The Bog Bean is sometimes used as a marginal but I have found that it likes to float freely on the water.:thumbsup:
