    Hi All

Mummy to 2, in Berkshire and new to this green finger lark :heehee:

I would like to grow my own herbs and eventually, veggies. But for now, I have a line of pots on my kitchen ledge (inside); chives, basil, peppermint, parsley, lavender stoechas, old english lavender, kew lavender, wild strawberries, catnip, thyme creeping and balm lemon. I also have some daffs, mini daffs, iris and various tulips as bulbs.

Now, as a newbie to gardening, could I pot the bulbs and grow them inside and then replant them into my garden, next year, when the weather is more favored for them?

I have a lot of questions, so I shall apologise in advance :rolleyespink:

    Beth

Hi beth and welcome to the forum. Yes you can plant out daffs etc after they have been grown indoors. They will take a year or so to establish and bloom again.

Hi Beth, welcome to Gardeners Corner:D There's no reason why you can't plant up your herbs and keep them inside so long as they get good light, and you could plant them outside in the Spring. Daffs could be potted up now if you wanted, although I would leave the Tulips until mid November so that the danger of Tulip Fire Blight has gone. But daff's can be planted in your garden now if you so want, as can Tulips in November.

Ahhh that gives me some hope with starting up my garden :yess:

I know I have heather, currently residing in the garden (only moved here 3 weeks ago) but i am not sure about the rest of the plants. If I took a photo of what is there, would forum members be able to help me ID them?

    Hi Beth, and welcome.

Regarding the Daffs and Tulips, you could plant them in Pots as suggested and then, in the Spring set them in the garden - still in their pots - to achieve the best effect for the garden.
After they are finished, you can then install them in your garden in their final place for future development. Over time they will multiply, assuming they are happy.
