I've been thinking a lot about this and decided; In honour of my dey I would love to grow some plants and enter into a local flower show that he always entered every year. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you the first thing about what is expected of flower shows and I'd like to enter multiple sections (which I know you can in this).

My question; what plants, under any category, would people say has been the most successful or considered the "best" plants to enter with, if any? Or any initial tips or help that could be given before I even start looking at what materials to try?

Good morning Chipmunk ,well I grow and show Roses every year, why not follow in your dey,s footsteps and grow the same, that,s how I started many years ago, what ever you decide on I would then join the the society associated with your choice:) all society,s will have a booklet on entries and classes ect,and why not go along to some shows(Locally) where I am sure the entrants and patrons would be only to pleased to advise you,if I can be of any further help just ask.:)

    Morning! :sunny:

Thank you for the input! I am trying to get a hold of the flower society locally but it's like trying to get in touch with the secret service! I shall keep pushing though! I wasn't sure if they could tell me much but I'm glad to hear they can

I started with my dey when I was between 6-14 and then went a long period where I couldn't go to them and then he could not keep up his gardening or get the energy to go to shows, so I honestly can't remember in all the years I attended and the more years he entered, what was up. Knowing my dey anything and everything that took his fancy! :heehee:

The place of choice is my local event but I might then branch out further to see what other shows there are to nose around in
