Facebook

Not wishing to upset anyone but I only use Facebook to keep in touch with Family Members & for Black Opps Infiltration.

So please don't be offended if you've sent a Friend Request and I haven't responded.

Its not that its not appreciated but I only go there for a few minutes a week so am trying to keep it uncluttered so I can see where the kids are.

I'm on here most of my web time & love to have you all as friends here

 

I can't stand Facebook. I signed up recently to post some photos of a nephews wedding, and instantly got loads of friend requests from immediate family, relatives and suggested old friends.

I figure that if I wanted to keep in touch, I would have done so by now and they wouldn't need to request.
After leaving the account live for a week to allow the photos to be copied, I then closed the account.

Back on topic...Know what you mean.Most of my friends swear by Facebook and that's great but just not my thing...

 

For me it isn't helped by listening to the radio either. Everything is Facebook that, or Tweet this. I've got to the stage now where I can't even be bothered to turn the radio on.

 

I am fussy who are my contacts are on Facebook
I set my profile to friends only... and keep the account open for hobbies only
Not on the search for new friends as I have plenty to keep me going in life

I think it was facebook I tried once, Recommended by the young ones at work

I could not really understand it, someone giving me a farmville and ten tons of wheat ? WTF?
asking how big the farmville was now ?

and wanting to be "MY" FRIEND who?

Shut it down and tried to eliminate most of it, but if one looks it is still there in google/yahoo files

There seems to be 3 types of Facebook patrons as far as I can determine:-

1. Those who use it for Friends & family contacts and limit their access.
2. Corporate people who use it as a form of advertising and/or talking up specific projects/products to their own benefit. They attract as many "friends" as possible to achieve maximum coverage.
3. Those individuals with the express aim of getting "as many friends as possible". Comments like "I've got thousands of friends" is not unusual - how many have they met, spoken to, actually had any meaningful contact with?

Many of these Facebook users are anonymous - Why?.

Having said all that, I have a facebook account (only just). I use it as a tool to look for information and to monitor activity on a number of sites I am interested in.
Is it a valuable commodity? - I could live without it with no problem.
I know people who spend innumerable hours monitoring their list of "friends" and making inane comments about toothache, the weather, last nights kebab - and any number of other earth-shattering topics.

Get a life - or a garden of course.

 

I hate it when i bump into an old friend and they say 'i'll facebook you' - i just think yeah right, whatever, you can try . I'm not on facebook

 

i use it for messaging but must admit im hooked on farmtown game.....sooooooo sad :o

I admit I have not got a clue what it is about, other than one of my daughters has a business on it, to the extent she can not take anymore as would be unable to meet all the orders

I gave up when farmville came into the equation ?

One of the 'responsible young persons' in my family (i.e. a daughter) set up a Facebook 'account' for me which took her about 2 or 3 minutes .... and to think she could have been doing something useful during that time. Not only have I absolutely no idea why, but I've never been near it from that day to this and have absolutely no intention of doing so.

 

I'm happily and blissfully ignorant to it too !
